Laragai House was built on Borana Ranch in 1993 as an idyllic weekend get-away for two English Lords. Translated to mean 'the place to be', it sits on the edge of a 3000ft escarpment with staggering views of Mt.Kenya and the Northern Frontier District, and not a light in sight at night.
Besides and beyond its own 35,000 acre playground Laragai is in the heart of Laikipia, and ecosytem spanning some two million acres of unbleamished wilderness, which can be explored on foot, horseback, camel, bicycle, 4x4, plane or helicopter.
One of the few areas where wildlife numbers are increasing its conservation programme, with big game living in harmony with the human population, is unique and hugely successful.
It is an idea location for families, parties and special occasions. It can be as active as you require with game viewing, walking, riding, swimming, shooting & fishing (subject to season), game drives/flight or more sedate with sunbathing or simply sleeping.
