The grandest of grand European hotels, this Orient-Express owned hotel is a legend in its own right. Set on the island of Giudecca, Venice, overlooking St Mark’s Square, it gracefully rewrites the benchmarks of luxury, offering a fantastic swimming pool, tennis court and a splendid private marina.
Although the Cipriani seems to have been in situ forever, it was only built in the 1950s and while the architecture is hardly Renaissance, it is extremely elegant. All rooms and suites have views of the lagoon, the garden or the swimming pool.
Traditional, luxurious decor blends with modern styling and in the same vein a more informal restaurant, Cip’s, which has arguably one of the best views in the world, complements the ultrachic dining room. Regardless of where guests dine, they are assured of a sublime experience; simple, fresh and perfectly prepared food served up with some of the most spectacular views in Venice.
