Rasa

On the outskirts of Jaipur lies the historic Amer Fort. Adjacent to its meandering fort wall is an ancient gateway that leads to a valley, transformed into a geometric garden. Forty futuristic tents, canvas cubes that are rendered in patterns, interspaced with sculpted landscape against a background of rocky hills. This combination of contrasts evokes a range of emotions and tastes that the word "rasa" stands for. Located 15 kilometres north of Jaipur, Rajasthan, is this unique exploration of modern Indian nomadic tents. For the traveller who appreciates an experience that is distinctive and yet of local origin, Rasa - Jaipur, more than meets the expectations set by hotels from Devi Resorts.

Each 500sq. ft. tent has large bay windows with light filtering curtains and a high roof that recedes in a slope forming a canopy over the bed. The interiors are done in shades of red stone, concrete and wood giving a sense of pared down luxury through a strong contemporary aesthetic. A pavilion extends into a private outdoor garden, a space for interface with nature. Your stay is made comfortable with modern facilities, where warm hospitality and personalised service is the hallmark.

A traditional arch is twisted to create a dynamic roof contour in the Toran restaurant. The cuisine follows this example by offering traditional Indian food but with a dash of creativity from the chef. A fusion menu is created using a subtle combination of ingredients farmed in the organic gardens. The area in front the Restaurant is dominated by the majestic Amber fort-wall. A stylish black pool and an outdoor bonfire area for winter nights, create a romantic ambience.

The nearby sanctuary and surrounding rocky terrain offer opportunity for trekking and bird watching. Amber Fort and the city of Jaipur have a variety of sightseeing attractions. At night the resort morphs into an energetic oasis underscored by strong visual effects. Pathways emerge and at every step the resort surprises and delights with the attention to detail. The ever-changing mosaic of colour and geometric patterns invites intimate dialogue between man, nature and design.
