In the heart of New Delhi, just south of the Delhi Golf Course and adjacent to the medieval Nizamuddin complex, is Aman New Delhi. This city-based resort rises nine stories and houses 39 rooms and suites with private plunge pools. Framing an internal courtyard is another low-rise structure of five floors that houses 28 deluxe suites with one, two and three-bedroom configurations, half of which feature private pools.
Although located in a city setting, the property provides extensive recreation and leisure facilities built around a central courtyard. Rooms and suites at Aman New Delhi are designed with a contemporary flair, drawing their aesthetic references from local materials as well as the architecture and design of the region. Khareda stone quarried in northern India has been chosen for all the floors and is complemented by handmade rugs. Rich dark timber panels are accentuated by discrete lighting, while traditional jaali screens adorn building terraces and exteriors, lending an aura of mystery, as they have done, for so many buildings over many centuries.
The Aman Restaurant features an elegant mirrored interior with a high vaulted ceiling. Furniture is made
from polished timber and white marble, and upholstered with leather and natural linens in muted tones. The Aman Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as afternoon tea. The menu includes a selection of Indian, Asian and European dishes. Chefs source seasonal vegetables from the organic gardens of Aman-i-Khás and Amanbagh, and menus change frequently. Guests may also enjoy original French Kaiseki, combining the best of French technique and Japanese artistry, at the Naoki counter. Adjacent to the restaurant is the leather-panelled Lounge, an ideal meeting place, offering classic cocktails and an extensive wine list. Located in a three-level, free-standing building within the grounds of Aman New Delhi is the Lodhi Restaurant. Guests are given the choice of two dining areas; the entrance level features a floor-toceiling window overlooking the large reflection pool, whilst guests dining on the upper level will enjoy its jaalied windows, leather floor, silver leaf ceiling and Catalonian/Mediterranean cuisine created in the open kitchen and wood-burning oven. The Tapas Lounge on the lower level features a central serving area with elevated seating, creating an informal setting. A Wine Cellar offers an intimate tasting area as well as cigar humidors.
The Spa offers eight private Treatment Rooms, Hair and Beauty Salon, two traditional Hammam Steam Baths and Bamboo Garden Relaxation Areas. Each treatment room is fully-equipped with a private shower, steam room, bathtub, vanity and daybed. An extensive spa menu features luxurious spa treatments for both ladies and gentlemen.
The Health Centre is set in a sunken courtyard that is a focal point for fitness and recreational activities with three Tennis Courts, three Squash Courts, a Pilates Studio and a Gym. Professional instructors are always on hand to offer personalised guidance for all levels of experience. The Lap Pool is overlooked by the Pool Bar. Here informal seating is set beneath a colonnade which runs along the edge of the 50-metre Pool. Light Indian snacks are served, as well as salads and sandwiches.
