Grenada is sometimes known as the 'Spice Island' because cinnamon, cloves, ginger, mace and nutmeg, are all important exports. As such it's a fantastic, if unlikely, venue for a celebrity chef - Gary Rhodes is 'in residence' at one of our Grenada properties, Calabash.
If you are not a 'foodie', Grenada's French and English colonial capital - St George's - is widely regarded as being one of the prettiest places in the Caribbean, with its steep streets, pastel coloured 19th-century Creole houses and quaint, horseshoe-shaped harbour.
Grand Etang Lake in the National Park is also a great starting point for adventures and eco tours on foot or mountain bike into Grenada's mountainous interior of lush rainforests and waterfalls. The indented coastline with protected bays, secluded beaches and little-visited islands like Carriacou, can also be explored by boat. For the sporty, deep-sea fishing, kayaking, snorkelling are also generally on offer, while you'll find tennis, snooker and croquet facilities at Calabash.
Whatever you choose to do, a visit to Grenada will certainly add a little spice to your life.
