Grenada

Grenada is sometimes known as the Spice Island because cinnamon, cloves, ginger, mace and nutmeg are all important exports. The à la carte dinner menu at the Calabash has been developed specifically by Chef Gary Rhodes who places high importance on locally grown seasonal produce, all of which is supplied by the best sources and the kitchen and restaurant staff have been trained by Gary.

If you are not a 'foodie', Grenada's French and English colonial capital, St George's, is widely regarded as being one of the prettiest places in the Caribbean, with its steep streets, pastel coloured 19th century Creole houses and quaint, horseshoe-shaped harbour.

Grand Etang Lake in the National Park is also a great starting point for adventures and eco-tours on foot or mountain bike into Grenada's mountainous interior of lush rainforests and waterfalls. The indented coastline with protected bays, secluded beaches and little-visited islands like Carriacou, can also be explored by boat. For the sporty, deep-sea fishing, kayaking, snorkelling are also generally on offer, while you'll find tennis, snooker and croquet facilities at Calabash.

Whatever you choose to do, a visit to Grenada will certainly add a little spice to your life.
