France & Corsica

France is the most visited country in the world and quite rightly so. The ancient saying goes "as happy as God In France' and there certainly is plenty about France that's divine, from Mont Blanc, Notre Dame Cathedral and the Louvre, through de Beauvoir, Debussy, the Tour de France and the Tour Eiffel, to the roaming countryside of Provence or the wilds of delta of the Camargue. What could be more heavenly than a sliver of locally produced foie gras or Camembert, washed down with award-winning wine or champagne at a top restaurant?

For a unique combination of art and cuisine, head to Mougins, a place with more gastronomy per square mile than any other area in France and home to Picasso and Man Ray. From there, it is a short hop to Grasse, the home of perfume, and to the mountains and stunning scenery of Haute Provence. Alternatively, visit the nearby resorts of the Cote d'Azur to the south.

Then there's Corsica, described by Balzac as 'a French island basking in the Italian sun' and offering a wildly different range of magical rugged and lounge lizard-style experiences.

The French came up with a term for their totally seductive lifestyle - 'Douce France' (Sweet France) which you'll find yourself using often if you choose this enchanting country as your holiday destination.
