An oasis of Italian chic, Mombo and Little Mombo lie deep within the Moremi Reserve, where big game is abundant. Deemed the jewel in the Okavango Delta’s safari crown, the Moremi has phenomenal populations of plains game, predators and birdlife; white rhino, wild dog and leopard sightings in particular are outstanding.
Luxurious to a fault, and raised off the ground to allow wildlife to roam freely, both camps lie on Chief’s Island overlooking a floodplain teeming with game. With nine and three thatched tents respectively, Mombo and Little Mombo are an opulent combination of ‘African primitive’ and cutting-edge style. Each camp has a pool, dining room and an outdoor ‘boma’ for dining under the stars. Both are also connected by a raised walkway, which enables guests to book Little Mombo as a private camp and extend into the main camp if necessary.
The stunning game is viewed from open 4x4s accompanied by an experienced guide who ensures that no hint of wildlife is left unseen. With its record levels of year-round game sightings it is no wonder that the Moremi is one of the top wildlife documentary locations in Africa.
