Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa

Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa offers guests a rare opportunity to experience true luxury within a spectacular Australian wildlife and conservation reserve. Located in the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage region, Wolgan Valley’s 1,620 hectares of limestone ramparts and cliffs, hills forested in graceful gums and open spaces surround the lodge, which occupies a tiny two percent of the total reserve.

Each of the 40 freestanding suites has a private deck, an individual swimming pool and its own native garden. While the interiors are brilliantly appointed with everything from the latest Nespresso machine to a dressing room you will want to take home, the exterior reflects Australian country architecture. The mod-cons and slick fittings are balanced by quirky adaptations of the region’s pioneer settlements, fencing made of star posts, a light fashioned from an upturned sheep trough and another made of a worn Driza-bone.

The central gathering point is the main homestead which offers a full range of luxury facilities from distinctive dining and a comfortable bar with wide verandas to a huge swimming pool with relaxation areas and a small gift shop. Nearby, the Timeless Spa has been designed to spoil in every way and each of the six double treatment rooms has a changing room and soaking tub.

Wolgan Valley guests are invited to take part in numerous excursions, based on the incredible beauty of the location, its wildlife, ecology, archaeology and both settler and Aboriginal history. Activities include 4x4 safaris, night wildlife spotting, horse riding, mountain biking, bush walking and heritage interpretation tours. More than 400 different animals live within the rugged gorges and tablelands of the Greater Blue Mountains. These include threatened or rare species, such as the Spotted-tailed Quoll, Yellow-bellied Glider, Longnosed Potoroo, Green and Golden Bell Frog and the Blue Mountains Water Skink.

This is an area of breathtaking views, rugged tablelands, sheer cliffs, deep valleys and swamps all teeming with life. The unique flora and fauna that live in this outstandingly beautiful area tell an extraordinary story of Australia's antiquity, its diversity of life and its superlative beauty
