Stretching for 280 kilometres along Western Australia’s coast, the World Heritage listed Ningaloo Reef is a remarkable and yet little known jewel in Australia’s natural heritage.
Hidden in the dunes overlooking pristine beaches, Sal Salis is an exclusive bush camp that brings a touch of style to this remote and beautiful wilderness region. Designed to blend with the dunes, the spacious guest tents on raised platforms offer views of the ocean, supremely comfortable beds and an environmentally friendly en suite bathroom.
Somewhat rustic in its look but very comfortable, Sal Salis provides a unique and earthy venue from which to take in this extraordinary spectacle of nature. Guided forays to the reef that lies literally metres offshore reveal an array of coral and colourful fish, sea turtle, reef shark, Humpback Whale and Manta Ray. Immerse in this sub-aquatic marine playground and swim with the most famous migrants in these waters, whale shark. On shore there are Black-footed Rock Wallaby, Euro and Emu and the region has an ancient geological and Aboriginal history. In the evening guests may lie out on the beach and stare up at the Milky Way and a canopy of stars stretching across the southern night skies.
