Designed for polar research, the Akademik Ioffe and her sister ship Akademik Sergey Vavilov have all the components of true exploratory polar vessels with ice-strengthened hulls, excellent stability and manoeuvrability. With a potential capacity of 110 passengers for Akademik Ioffe, numbers are limited to a comfortable 96 guests. The Vavilov holds 104 passengers. Outer decks are expansive while indoors a separate bar and lounge as well as a library provide ideal places to sit and relax. Accommodation is in comfortable cabins ranging from suites and spacious superior cabins to twin cabins with private or semi-private facilities. The unique team of Adventure Concierges is key and offers a variety of activities. With a focus on wildlife, photography and adventure, guests will enjoy optional daily activities including overnight camping on Antarctica, kayaking, guided walks, hikes and Zodiac cruising and there is even an on board wellness program.
