It is a cliché but when you first come to Fiji, ones really will feels as if one has died and gone to heaven. Each of its 320 plus islands, are surrounded by colourful coral reefs and the warm azure waters of the South Pacific, heavenly conditions for diving and snorkelling fans. Those who also want to have an island all to themselves should head for the one hectare Wadigi, one of the smallest of the Mamanuca Islands where there is also excellent scuba-diving. Alternatively, one can get away from it all on the unspoilt Yasawa, the privately owned Wakaya or the small but perfectly formed Royal Davui.
